What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO optimize the website, the higher the rank- the more people will see the result and click on it without paying for advertising.
HISTORY OF SEO
During the Early stages of the Internet, finding information was challenging. Google search results with Index contains ~ 25 million pages via E-mails. During the 9/11 attack, Google faced multiple inquiries about the attack and the World Trade Center.

During the incident, Google was not able to retrieve trustful information for the WTC. Due to the mistrust of information, Google had to hold intense meetings regarding the topic and found Google was not able to make effective crawling of data into the database. Google found that crawling trustful information into the database is the key. Google decided to take bold actions such as releasing the algorithm to the developers to make effective crawling hence improving the effective crawling & indexing.
What are Crawling, Caching, and Indexing?
- Crawling: Discovering Web Pages- The process of discovering and accessing the data with the help of Bots.
- Caching: Storing Web Pages- Storing & Categorising the discovered data by Bots into a temporarily called Cache. Caching can speed up the loading time of data which improves the user experience.
- Indexing: Resulting Web Pages- The process of showing the results of data after the Carwling and Caching.
EVOLUTION OF SEO
- Content Specific: Google's Content Specific Update also known as Niche Specific Update includes the rank results that make the number of focusing words in the page. The number of focusing words directly made the result rank. Focusing on word repetition paved the path to Keyword Stuffing. Black-hat developers deliberately started repeating the focusing words in to manipulate the search results. Keyword Stuffing resulted in untrustful, unrelated content and informative information. Google's trust again was in disarray. Google made algorithm changes and came up with Link specific, by getting links from websites.
- Link Specific: Google's Link Specific Update focuses on the increase in the number of links & in-out links presented on the Page. The Higher the number of links the higher the results. Link-specific updates paved the path to Link Selling by Black-hat SEO.
- Quality Link Specific: Google changed the algorithm to update Link Specific, and added Quality Link Specific for the result ranking. Links obtained from reputable websites improve the website. Reputable websites included US government sites.
- Passing the Juice: The amount value of the link passes from one page to another page. The HTML link rel= "no flow" acts Bots to ignore the the link and doesn't impact on search engine.
